Work has continued apace on the CCT, with the pair of end doors now repaired and part painted. All the steelwork which was fixed to the doors has now been painted and is ready to go back on. A pair of the side sliding doors have been adjusted to slide easier on their runners – an easy thing to say but one had to be taken down, chiselled and then refitted, more than once, before Stephen was happy. The panelling on the North Eastern coach end has been refixed where loose and the split and damaged panels and moulding has been removed. Measurements have been taken for replacement panels and mouldings ready for making and fixing next time. Some new fence posts and rails have been delivered from Cloughton saw mills to continue renewing the north west lineside fence. It was meant to be delivered at the end of November/early December but the snow put paid to that! The new cottage outside wall lamp housings have been adjusted to take the period oil lamp vessels we have had made thanks to the S&T Thornaby workshop. Tony has continued revarnishing the exhibition van and plans to start refreshing the displays next week. The Tea Hut team have been down midweek undertaking a touch up on the Weighbridge and separately have put their storage freezer back into place now we have finished adjusting the coke hut and tea machine lean to. The cottage timber floor has been sanded ready for a revarnish.
