20th March 2011

It’s been a destruction weekend.  First up was a contract job (paid!) which involved demolishing a mobile home.  Several of us were involved in stripping out the timber frame before collapsing the sides and roof.  The aluminium side sheets and roof panels were recovered for scrap sales whilst the timber was burnt on site.

Elsewhere we have continued cutting and burning the scrub which has grown and collapsed due to weight of snow over this winter.  We ended up with three fires to get it all disposed.

The NER coach end has benefitted from wood filler and a sand down.  All being well we may get the roof fitted next weekend, if the weather is dry.  Tony has sanded and primed one noticeboard and commenced building the next.  Weighbridge Teas have had a steady trade and the bacon sandwiches went particularly well!  The Grosmont to Whitby booklet has had its final proof read so should be in the shops soon.
