To start with we have to record the help given us by the Junior Volunteers on Monday.  They assisted in collecting and stacking cut down timber, piling brushwood into large piles for burning and painting several coats onto the new ‘wriggly’ steel sections for of wagon.

Its been a bits and pieces sort of weekend.  First up, literally, was the beer tent which is alongside the marquee ready for a private event next Friday.  Then it was onto painting of the upstairs cottage window, manufacture of a new handrail for the booking office awning, strimming near the level crossing; cutting back the grass on the road edge; taking the surplus concrete monument blocks away to store; cutting down lineside scrub south of the station so the signalman can see approaching trains; laying out power cables so the DMU can be charged and finally cleaning out some of the platform and path drainage channels!

Weighbridge Teas had a steady trade in ice creams and the drinks machines were topped up following good sales during the week.
