Well, after a weeks break due to your Blogger being on holiday, ‘normal’ service is now resumed!?  Friday started with a trip to the brewery to collect the golden nectar for this and next weekends concerts.  We also delivered our spare concrete mixer to Goathland so the Station Group there can mix and lay the new base for the Whitedale building.  Saturday dawned bright and sunny and we had a further visit from the Junior Volunteers who helped set up the stage for the bands, rubbed down and repainted the Tea Hut, pressure washed the weighbridge table and surrounding stone setts to removed accumulated dirt and grit, burnt the brash they had collected together on their last visit, cut down further hawthorn scrub north of the station on the lineside, and repaired the fencing nearby which was literally falling apart!  As usual their help was very welcome and made our life a lot easier. A Job well done.

Sunday saw the setting up of the bar and marquee ready for Legend – a 60’s and Shadows tribute band who entertained the crowds all afternoon.  The beer tent was in operation with a choice of two beers as well as the Tea Hut which was again open as well as Weighbridge Teas, selling strawberries and cream plus the usual drinks and snacks.  Malcolm and Doreen have returned from “Down Under” complete with corked hat. Elsewhere work continued on the display item for Wartime Weekend (but we are not telling you what it is!) using a lot of our small stored timber and sheet off cuts.  Stephen has continued making and painting his new rack for the Warehouse, whilst Mike and David have done some further work on our webcam, coming to a website near you soon!

Don’t forget next weekend we have a different band on each of the 3 days so there is bound to be something for everyone.  Both catering outlets will be open PLUS the Real Ale bar will be selling its liquid refreshments every day.  Come by train and relax as you sample the Beer, Music and food.
