Apologies for the late post of last weekend but yours truly was on holiday without wireless access. We’ve had another warm weekend with only a few spots of rain in the air, despite the expert weather forecasters predictions. All this warm weather isn’t half making the vegetation grow. It’s been out with the strimmer to tidy the station whilst our contractor has continued cutting the grass. North of the station we have continued cutting down the lineside scrub and Stephen has been using the mini digger to level the ground. The signal box nameboards are now back in their rightful place following their last touch up of paint.
We have been given a briefing on the railway’s Safety Management System by one of our Safety Managers as part of the railways overall safety plan. This is being rolled out to all staff, paid or volunteer over the next few months.
The new ground signal south of the station has now been bolted down and the signal control wire connected up. All that now remains is for the S&T to connect up the electric arm repeater and lamp and adjust the signal box lever frame to accept it (easier said than done).
