Well it’s been another good weekend for weather considering the poor weather we had during the summer.
We have had the Junior Volunteers and Family Weekend participants join us again. This time the main job was to burn the scrub and lineside brash we had cut down north of the station. Once we had set up a safe system of work they could get on with the disposal. Elsewhere at the station they also treated some new side poles for our marquee with wood preservative before moving our other ones to a new store ready for Wartime Weekend.
We have also taken delivery of a new ridge and main support poles for the marquee. These, once we have installed the ropes and fittings, will allow us to extend the marquee and provide more undercover space. Work on our ‘secret project’ has continued with paint applied and glazing installed but we are still not telling you what it is yet.
It being Diesel Gala it was time to bring out the TPWS and ERTMS equipment again for these modern traction fans. Weighbridge Teas also had a good weekend selling hot and cold fayre, drinks and ice cream.
