Another dry weekend and activities on two fronts. Work has continued near Bridge 15 clearing trees and scrub such that the lineside is now nearly clean between the river and the railway.
Two new lead finials have been completed for the bracket signal and painted up to undercoat. They look smashing.
In the station yard work has continued with our ‘Axis’ colleagues on ‘ze secret weapon’ for this years Wartime Weekend. Much plywood has been fitted and then sections cut out of it. Smaller pieces have also been cut and trimmed to fit on top of the initial ply. We now have to make the clockwork key.
Weighbridge Teas have another good weekend, so much so that they had to make an extra order for delivery on Sunday. They too are planning on their labour and catering resources for Wartime Weekend. They still need new helpers, if you think you could help, even for a few hours, please drop me a line or give me a call.
The Womble outing is on Monday 9th so look out for us ‘out and about’
