14th/15th December 2013

we are still cutting and burning (trying to). This time near 17 signal, 5 signal and half way to the distant. We are clearing around the fence lines now that the scrub which had to be moved for the Pway has been cleared.
At the station, the notice board painting is now finished and a start has been made on painting the small platform bench. On the dock most of the old NER van parts have had the old bolts cut off them and the metalwork placed into store ready for a clean down and prime. At the rear of the cottage the old ‘netty’ (outside toilet) has been cleaned out and the walls given a coat of masonry paint to smarten it up. We have a use for the space so watch this blog to find out what.
Janice and Tony from Weighbridge Teas have been out again, this time running the buffet on the Pickering Santa train. One of our Wombles was also spotted on the train with his grandchildren, he was waving and we think he was using all 5 fingers! He had better get himself back to the station now as he still has a job to finish!!
