Our esteemed Station Master has been missing this week with Mrs Station Master as they were away for her birthday and we wish her “bon anniversaire!”(- your actual French!). We managed OK without them.
The PW hut at the distant signal now has fully glazed windows with the inside of the frames painted, along with the new door frame. Some of the ditches in the vicinity have been “fine-tuned” with a rake and are all running very well. The nearby rebuilt fence is now fully nailed as well.
At Bridge 15, the stone work has been cleared of some of the moss and weed growth which, in due course, will make it look a lot cleaner.
At the station itself, Kevin and Elaine have tidied the roadside opposite the Weighbridge where the grass encroaches onto the road and pressure washed the weighbridge deck plate and surrounding stone setts.
Weighbridge Teas had a good weekend and sold out of baked goods on the Saturday. However, the ladies were able to collect more supplies from the bakery for Sunday so no one was disappointed. Meanwhile, the gentlemen completed a new fold out table for the paddock tea hut. This table will be used to display items when the tea hut is open and replaces a modified picnic table which will no doubt be recycled into something else.
