We’ve been back in the swinging 60s this weekend. The paddock has been full of music lovers listening to the Nashville Teens on Saturday and New Amen Corner today, strumming their hits from that era. The Tea Hut and Bar were available to keep people refreshed while enjoying the show, as well as Weighbridge Teas. Lynda and Keith Simpson, from Pickering Station Group, have been helping us out today, selling platform tickets for the band concert. We also had a small collection of 1960’s cars on display, opposite the cottages on the smart grass there.
As usual, although it is very pleasant listening to the music, there is a lot of time spent setting it all up and putting it all away in the evening. Indeed, the whole of Friday evening was spent setting up the stage (it’s the first time we have set up the new one) and bar.
Elsewhere around the station the stone setts have been cleaned of weeds, a start has been made on assembling the new picnic tables and some primer and undercoat has been applied to the Newtondale 12’ benches.
