Schools Out for our 70’s weekend! We have been entertained by The Glamned, and singer Monty, performing in the Paddock. It was a welcome return for them and they were soon painted up and playing to the audience again. Both the Tea Hut and the Real Ale tent were open supporting the event. This didn’t mean that Weighbridge Teas were closed, they were still selling their wares to passers by and the loco crews. Once the event was over it was time, again, to tidy it all away before the next event in a fortnight – Vintage Vehicles.
In the evening we had a barbeque dinner for the volunteers who had been working with us over the day. 30 of us had a good evening, even with the midges, before settling down ready to do it all again the following morning.
Elsewhere we collected the timber for some more lineside fencing and a further 4 picnic tables. These have been completed over the weekend and 1 has been handed over to Goathland station group (who were here for the music) and sent back with them on the train!
The storage sheds behind the up platform waiting shelter have had a sort out of the contents, and new racking is being prepared to manage the stores better.
