We hope you all had a Happy Halloween, and were not too frightened by some of the ghosts and ghouls out there. The station was decorated, together with Weighbridge Teas, in an appropriately scary style.
Work has recommenced on the brake van, with all the chamfer pieces now fitted on each veranda. One of the footboards was poor so this has been replaced. The brake gear has been adjusted, to take up the slack, so you don’t get dizzy turning the brake wheel. Inside, the desk has been rebuilt and fixed to the wall, together with miscellaneous small parts and fittings. The whole van was given a thorough clean out as well for good measure. At our workshop, work has continued on repairing a stove for the brake van, together with the manufacture of a new ash door. New kick strips have been made for the van veranda accesses.
In the yard, the cubicle for the power supplies has been completed and painted.
Weighbridge Teas had another good weekend and are looking forward to next weekend, when on Friday the station will be graced with the annual visit of the Velocipedes; who are coming ‘for a spin’ on the tracks here. Come and see how many different ones there are. For those in the dark, a Velocipede is a person propelled rail trolley with 3 or more wheels for 1 or more people to ride on!
