It’s ‘all white now’ as snow and frost covers the valley. It got down to -6ºC overnight on Saturday but when we started on Sunday morning it was only -4ºC!?! We have spent 2 days up near bridge 16 trying to burn the chopped down scrub (not very successfully as it was all snowy and wet). Working towards the station, we continued the scrub cutting (at least this was undertaken successfully!) opening up the views and keeping it back from the railway.
Back at the station, when darkness fell, we got the flood lights out so we could see the shed site area and cut the reinforcement mesh to size. In the cottage the ‘boxing in’ in the downstairs toilet has been painted and the room now looks smart again (following Christmas weeks improvement works on the drains).
