The diesels have been to the fore this weekend, complementing the 70’s music at the station. The Glamned, with Monty Scott supporting them, played their hearts out in the paddock to our visitors. Both Weighbridge Teas, the Tea Hut and the Womble Bar were open and kept busy over the weekend.
Our work started on the Friday with 2 beer deliveries (from York and Darwin Breweries), cutting all the grass (again), setting up the stage and bar floors and the bar itself.
Following the weekend’s entertainment the marquee and the bar tent had to be tidied up and left safe for the week.
Elsewhere around the station, the new shed has had its cladding nearly completed so it looks nice and neat. The final rafters have been cut and fitted in place, the roofing underfelt laid out and the slate laths fixed in place. The Juniors were working on the doors and fitting out the interior ready for their stores.
On Saturday night the Station Group had a barbeque to celebrate 4 of the team reaching their 70th birthdays this year. Most of the evening was inside the Bar Tent as the midges were out in force, again.
