Blimey it’s quiet – compared to last weekend! All the picnic tables used in the yard last weekend, bar one, have returned to the winter storage area beyond the Tea Hut. This last picnic table has been delivered to Goathland, by train, to supplement their complement outside the Goods Shed Tea Room. As a return load our scaffolding was sent back, following completion of the roof on the new shop building at Goathland.
The remaining marquee sheets and wartime props, etc., have also been put into their proper storage locations.
Work has continued on the storage shed in the yard, fitting wipe clean surfacing to the interior of the kitchen storage shed. We have kept the kitchen tent up as it’s been a wonderful dry workspace this damp weekend.
David has continued tidying up the gardens and has also planted more daffodil and tulip bulbs in some of the beds.
The new Palvan door is coming together, with the frame now completed, screwed and glued together. Several pieces of rusty metalwork have been cleaned down and primed ready for re-use later.
The Weighbridge Teas team are back to normal service now but beware, their outlet is decorated in spooky things ready for Halloween next weekend!
On Tuesday 1st November, we are again having a visit from a group of Velocipedes. Come and see them around lunchtime and Weighbridge Teas will be open for business as well.
