The mild and dry weather has continued all week – it’s been quite pleasant at times.

Three of the Palvan doors for the Wagon Group have now had their first coat of bauxite gloss, with the fourth door now built and painted in undercoat.  The backs of the LNER doors have also had two coats of white undercoat, whilst one door has been numbered as part of its LNER livery.

The mini digger has been given a power wash around all the hose connections under the cab, following the checking and tightening of a few joints there.

At bridge 16 two days of concerted effort, and three large fires, have disposed of a lot of the scrub; opening up views of the hills behind.  The river has also come back into view, with quite a bit of fallen timber (not dropped by us) removed from it as well.  The firewood logs have been taken away by dumper truck to keep the home fires burning.

An inspection train came through on Saturday, comprising the newly tyre turned Class 25 and the immaculate disabled coach, to check the line up to Goathland.  Trains cannot at present go beyond Goathland whilst the landslip at Beckhole is being dealt with.
