Well, what a wet end to this year’s season.  We hope you all have a spooky Halloween.  The train of lights has run all week and has been very popular.  Visitors came to the Station every evening to watch the light spectacular from the platforms.  We were called upon to repair the 9Fs whistle this evening as the pull wire snapped.  Thanks to our hacksaws and the loan of a pair of mole grips, noise was restored and the service could continue!

The black Palvan has had all 4 doors stripped off it, following much cutting of bolts as the nuts would not turn.  The door hinges have all been wire wheeled clean and given a coat of primer.  The west side was treated to a second coat as resources were available to do this.  The 4 new doors have been moved from the LNER van, where they were stored, into the Palvan in readiness for fitting.

The dumper trailer is now sporting new yellow paint and the first of the repaired steel side sheets has been fitted and been painted yellow.  The timber deck has been refitted onto the trailer.  The trailer and dumper have been used to move the digger out to Platelayers in readiness for the commencement of the fibre cable digging in project.

The resorting of sheds 3 and 5 continues, but there is more to do.

Weighbridge Teas have now closed following another successful season.  They hope to open for 3 days over the Christmas break, subject to weather.  Details to follow.
