After a showery Saturday it’s been rather damp today but fortunately we had plenty to do inside!

The four mileposts have now been completed, bar the bitumastic on the bases.  Three damaged wall tiles in the Weighbridge have been replaced and regrouted.  Next week we will be able to fix the hand wash sink back into place, which we had to remove to get at the tiles.

The east side and south end of the Palvan underframe have received a coat of undercoat, whilst the west side had a first coat of black gloss.  The drop down bolt has been fitted to the east side doors and the top door catch has been removed -which required lots of hammering, chiselling and grinding to remove the well rusted bolts.  The door catch itself has been wire wheeled and primed.

In the toilet van a new cupboard frame has been made for the second toilet.  This will house the water heater and have a sink on the top.  The floor has been prepared in readiness for the new non -slip flooring which will hopefully come for next weekend.

Work has continued on the mini digger, with the refurbished heater reinstalled.  The seat has gone away to a local firm for refurbishment and recovering.  The windscreen wiper housing has been adjusted so that the wiper blade fits correctly. The sorting out of storage sheds 3 and 5 continues – is the end in sight?
